To make a working prototype, we first develop a core mechanic. The core mechanic we design is the beating heart of your serious game. It is the action players will take over and over. When the idea works and is engaging, we build a simple prototype and test it over and over with testers. This is known as rapid iteration.

It’s not done until it creates the desired real world impact, AND is incredibly fun to play.


We worked with the International Federation of The Red Cross Red Crescent Societies to design a playful approach to understanding data around flood resilience. We rapidly prototyped ideas on paper and worked over Skype to playtest them with several Red Cross Red Crescent country teams.
